Keep Smyrna's police officers in Smyrna and not in Murfreesboro!
If Smyrna's criminal court is repealed, every time our officers have to go to court or need a warrant or subpoena issued, they will have to drive to Murfreesboro. We need our police here in Smyrna fighting crime and protecting our families.
Nothing about this is true except for the spelling and misusing the Town of Smyrna Logo. It is an insult to citizens of Smyrna and Rutherford county.
DOUBLE TAXATION
Let's start with Double Taxation because this is a bold-faced lie from the YES! fake news campaign. Do we pay Smyrna for a General Sessions Court? Yes. Do we pay Rutherford County for a General
Sessions Court? Yes. Is that Double Taxation? Not at all. If we give up on the General Sessions Court in Smyrna, then the Smyrna expense goes down while the Rutherford County expense goes up.
But it is not magic as Mayor Mary Beth Reed, Councilman H.G. Cole, and Councilman Steve Sullivan would have you believe. Think about it. We are still Rutherford County citizens and pay for both.
And didn't they just raise our property taxes??? It is a shell game. Don't get played by these chowder heads.
Was this postcard poor judgement or ethical corruption? An elected official's job is to represent the citizens. Based on the above image, can you trust them to be unbiased? Can you trust them
to represent the citizens who want to vote NO? Can you trust them with anything?
The new Police Chief is concerned about taking those in custody to and from Murfreesboro. There could be a crash or escape attempt. It sounds like it is time for some driving lessons or
more training. Maybe it is time for a new Police Chief. Let's check Chief Irvin's qualifications. Something does *NOT* add up. If anything, his campaign makes it look like he's trying to
get out of doing his work. Who voted for this guy anyway?
